Carmel College presents the musical Annie, staging it at the Redland Performing Arts Centre on May 25 and 26.
Set in New York in 1933, little orphan Annie is determined to escape from an orphanage to find her family. Annie is smart, spirited and optimistic. She meets her lovable dog Sandy, wins hearts, and finds a home in the life of billionaire Oliver Warbucks. Annie is known for its unforgettable songs including It’s the Hard-Knock Life, Easy Street and Tomorrow.
Executive Director Rebecca Meale said the students were committed to entertaining the local community with wonderful singing, spectacular acting and show stopping choreography.
Lily Abbott plays Annie with Jack Mesic as Warbucks, Izzie Wicks as Miss Hannigan, Taylah Jessen as Grace, Zac Mitchell as Rooster, Ryan Gough as Roosevelt and Holly Komorowski as Lilly.
“This production is a crowd favourite, accessable to all ages. The smash hit tunes have lasted the test of time,” Ms Meale said.
