Stephanie Zeilinga became the first YMCA Victoria Point level 10 athlete to place in the top three in Queensland and be selected for the state team at the national championships when she competed at the State women’s artistic gymnastics championships from April 19 to 22.
She was among five YMCA Victoria Point female gymnasts competing at the Sleeman Sports complex, with all girls making it to State representation.
Jayde Beutel gained State champion on beam, came second on vault, fourth on bars and second all round and was selected for the Queensland Level 9 State team.
Jamie Rule came fifth on bars and beam and was selected for the State level 7 border challenge A team.
Marsali Andrews came fifth on vault and was selected for the State’s level 9 border challenge team and Kayla Geros came second on bars to be selected for the level 7 border challenge State team.
The Australian gymnastics championships will be held in Melbourne from May 21 to June 4.
