POLICE are investigating an assault after a 55-year-old man suffered a laceration to his face at the Redland Bay Hotel on Anzac Day.

A police spokeswoman said they had received information that there had been an argument between two men, both from Redland Bay.
It was reported to police that the 55-year-old man had fallen over after being punched about 6pm.
The man was taken in a stable condition to Redland Hospital.
A 28-year-old man is assisting police with their investigation.
The two men were not known to each other.
