On the weekend the Redlands Muddies Seniors travelled to Forest Lake for what was expected to be another physical game dominated by big forwards.
The game started as expected with the Forest Lakes attempting to dominate the Redlands forward pack. For the first 15 minutes Redlands were on the back foot and Forest Lake scored first to go ahead 7-0.
Redlands then reverted to their game plan of using their backs to out pace the big Forest Lakes forwards and spin the ball out wide.
Redlands were soon on the board and the half time score stood at 19-12.At half time the coaches urged the team to stick to the game plan and not get caught up in a forwards dominated game.
Once again a superb second half performance saw Redlands score 36 unanswered points to secure their 6th win of the season and come out victors 55-12.
This score could have been even higher except for the poor condition of the Forest Lake field which saw the referee disallow two tries as he was unable to determine the field lines as it had not been marked. The Redlands ladies also played an earlier game against Wests on Saturday and came out convincing winners 39-12. This weekend the Muddies take on Riverside at Judy Holt Park for 1 vs 2 top of the table clash at 3pm.
