Redland Softball Association’s under 15 girls team has claimed victory at the 2018 under 15 girls’ State Softball Championships, taking out the Grand Final and 2018 Championship title.
Held in on the Sunshine Coast from May 5 to 7, the 2018 State Championships saw 11 teams compete for this year’s top spot over three exciting days of softball action.
The side from Redlands made it through to the grand final match to battle it out against the side from Redcliffe for the top spot. Head team coach is Dorinda Stone.
The game was abandoned due to wet weather conditions and Redlands was declared the champion team as the girls played their way through the finals series to be the first team, and therefore the highest ranked team into the grand final.
Teams from around the state including Caboolture/Noosa/Suncoast, Ipswich, Logan City, Toowoomba, Redlands, Redcliffe, Brisbane, Townsville, Hervey Bay and FNQ/Rockhampton all competed against each other in the bid for the title.
The 2018 under 15 boys’ State Championships were held over the same dates in Brisbane, and saw the Boy’s side from Redlands take home third place on the ladder.
