Aaron Mooy's stunning debut English Premier League campaign will conclude on Sunday with a place in history: playing in Arsene Wenger's last match in charge of Arsenal.
Arsenal travel to Mooy's Huddersfield Town for the marquee occasion, made doubly special after the Terriers confirmed their place in England's top flight for another season in mid-week.
The Socceroo provided the assist in a 1-1 draw away to previous champions Chelsea, sparking celebrations.
It means Mooy can run out at the John Smith's Stadium and simply soak in the atmosphere after a hard-fought campaign.
"When I was growing up I always wanted to watch Arsenal because of him," Mooy told AAP.
"He was one of the best, if not the best, manager in the Premier League for so many years.
"They were an amazing team and it will be weird to be part of this game, having watched him for so long and knowing it's going to be his last game.
"It's going to be a special day for both clubs."
Mooy's contribution at Stamford Bridge came at the end of a season of merit.
The 27-year-old played in all but two of Town's fixtures this season, scoring four times - including a goal to help the minnows past heavyweights Manchester United.
After helping to get Huddersfield promoted and keeping them in the EPL, Mooy says he feels a closeness to the club and the community.
"I definitely have emotions attached to the club because of last season," he said.
"They were tipping us for relegation and we got promoted ... it was amazing and now to survive in the Premier League, it's been made even better.
"It's so big for the club financially and it keeps all the buzz going both around the town and at the club.
"It means the club will be able to build up and get a new training ground, stuff that can make us stronger into the future."
Mooy is clearly happy with life in Huddersfield, with a second child expected around the start of the new season.
"I just push myself as hard as I can, in training and games. Wherever that takes me, is fine by me," he said.
"I'm already proud of what I've done.
"I'll keep working and keep going. I don't set too many targets, I'll just keep going."
