A performance by renowned artist Peter Cupples will entertain an enthusiastic crowd at Cleveland Sharks Sports Club on Sunday May 20 from 2pm.
Peter Cupples is considered one of Australia’s favourite singers and songwriters. He was the former lead singer and songwriter of Stylus the Australian blue-eyed soul band signed by the US Motown label Tamala.
He first fell into prominence with Stylus in 1975, releasing four albums with hits such as Summer Breeze and World of Make Believe before the band split up in 1980.
A successful solo career followed throughout the ‘80s. The Australian talent will perform his repertoire for free at the event.
Victoria Point and Cleveland Sharks Sports Club general manager Mal Cochrane said the club looks forward to presenting upcoming acts to locals.
“We hope Peter will bring his supporters to attract people to see what we’ve done to the venue because he has a good following in the Redlands,” he said.

The modern club has great facilities. There’s an air conditioned gaming room which has been completely redesigned and offers 25 modern machines.
The bowls program is run by a dedicated volunteers.
Mr Cochrane said the establishment has enjoyed a recent refurbishment with new carpets, air conditioning and furniture since management took over responsibility for food, gaming and entertainment.

“Since we took over we put in a new gaming room, the Crackerjack Cafe is open Wednesday to Sunday from 7am to 2.30pm plus dinner each Friday and Saturday night,” he said.
The club will feature live entertainment every second Sunday with raffles and four membership draws of $250. Club membership costs $3.
There’s also poker every Thursday and Saturday from 7pm.
