BUYERS are slowly starting to realise the value of the Raby Bay property market, according to Toowong real estate agent Yan Wang.
Speaking after selling a Masthead Drive property at auction for $1.75 million, Ms Wang said Raby Bay was a real diamond.
“There are few other suburbs where you get such big land with a five-bedroom, three-bathroom house on the water for such fantastic value,” the NGU Real Estate Toowong agent said.
“A lot of people don’t know Raby Bay. They think it’s really far and only a retirement village.
“In Raby Bay you get a large waterfront house on the canal and overlooking the bay, close to two of Queensland’s best schools in Ormiston and Sheldon Colleges and it’s all within a quick train ride or car trip to Brisbane’s CBD.”
Ms Wang said the average time on the market for the suburb was 75 days but this property had sold in just three weeks.
She said the new owners had not inspected the property before the auction.
“They came to support me and had never seen the house before they looked on my WeChat,” she said.
“They’d been searching for their next home for nearly two years, came to my auction and I was surprised because I thought, ‘they’ve never stepped into the home before so how can they be bidding?’.
“They obviously thought it was a pretty good buy.”
