QUEENLAND Rail has apologised to residents ahead of noisy night works planned for tracks near Wellington Point station next week.
A QR spokesperson said heavy machinery would be used during rail replacements near Ethel Street from 8pm on Monday, May 28 to 5am the next day.
“This work involves the cutting, moving and welding of rail, the use of lighting towers and loud, heavy machinery, including excavators, loaders and trucks with horns, bright flashing lights and reversing beepers,” the spokesperson said.
“Every effort will be made to carry out these works with respect for our valued neighbours and we apologise for any inconvenience.”
The spokesperson said the works, which were weather dependent, would improve the safety and reliability of train services which used the tracks.
The planned upgrades follow works on the track earlier this month.
