Tthe annual IndigiDayOut and Folk Redlands Festival of Music will be staged to celebrate World Environment day at Indigiscapes, Runnymede Road, Capalaba from 10am to 4pm on Saturday June 2. This year’s theme pays homage to majestic old trees, and there will be activities for all the family to enjoy.
There will be market stalls, environmental displays, art, craft, children’s activities, food stalls and a live music program co-ordinated by Folk Redlands.
Headline act, The Fergies is a band of long haired, barefooted siblingsDan, Joel, Kahlia, Nathan and Shani which has forged a strong following and scooped a fair share of music awards since forming in 2007. Their rich five-part harmonies and irresistible, tambourine-shaking, guitar-strumming, electrified energy have attracted a broad and uniquely loyal fan-base of all ages. They have shared the stage with Powderfinger and played at Woodford Folk Festival, Riverstage, The Tivoli Theatre and The Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
With one foot rooted in the past and the other firmly planted in the future, The Fergies are emerging as one of Australia's freshest and most exciting creative units.

Also performing, is indigenous musician, Joe Geia of Macleay Island. Geia has become a renowned singer/songwriter, guitarist, didgeridoo player and influential figure in the development of contemporary indigenous music. He writes songs of bravery and beauty, sharing tales of Aboriginal life in Australia, the quest for justice and belonging, history, family and love.
Geia performs at 1:50pm on the main stage, sharing this with all girl band Diddly Squat (10.10am), Bec’s Bats (11am and 2.40pm),Mama Juju and The Jam Tarts (11.40am) and singer-songwriter, Helen Ashworth (3.20pm). Other performers include Mister Chuck and Missy Chrissy; The Red Hill Boys, Noisy Plumbing Redlands performer Geoff Carwardine.
The street market atmosphere will be complemented by the Ruby Phoenix Tribal Belly dancers and Baysamba drummers.
