REDLAND Bay Coast Guard have warned boaties to keep extra fuel onboard to avoid becoming stranded.
A Coast Guard spokeswoman said crew were sent out last Sunday evening to tow a vessel that had run out of fuel.
“As a reminder, boaties are urged to plan their trip and ensure they carry 30 per cent more fuel than required for the unexpected,” she said.
“Safety by all means.”
The mercury should hit daytime highs of 23 degrees throughout the weekend, with overnight lows of 15 degrees predicted.
Showers are possible from Friday, continuing through to Saturday and Sunday, with south-easterly winds between 15 to 20 knots expected from tomorrow.
