About 60 mostly pre war cars from the Vintage Car Club of Queensland will be on show at a Concours d’Elegance being staged in the grounds of Ormiston House on Sunday, June 24.
Committee member Brian McMillan said the venue was ideally located to showcase the cars with its wide lawns and water frontage.
He said the world’s best concours was held each year at a golf course overlooking Pebble beach, Monteray.
“Ormiston House is seen as similar to that,” he said.
Mr McMillan said the concourse showcased the best vintage cars in Queensland including some Redland based cars.
Doug Young of Capalaba is expected to show his 1963 Aston Martin, Chris Pike of Cleveland his Mark 4 Jaguar and David Fletcher of Redland Bay his 1924 Metallurgique.
Mr McMillan said the day was a chance to view the cars and for members to showcase them at their full potential.
Entry on the day is $5 with tea and scones to be served on the veranda.
