EXCITEMENT struck the Redlands last week with the news that Matt Damon was holidaying on North Stradbroke Island, only to be joined a day later by Chris Hemsworth.
Matt Damon and his family were helped by Oodgeroo MP Mark Robinson to get a beach permit, while Opposition tourism spokesman David Crisafulli chatted to the Bourne franchise star.
The following day Straddie local Julie Elliott investigated the arrival of a helicopter at Point Lookout and was lucky enough to grab a selfie – taken by Thor himself – of herself with the two stars.
Mr Hemsworth arrived in the helicopter and was met by Mr Damon.
Mr Hemsworth’s wife is understood to have travelled on the weekend to the island for filming of the Netflix series Tidelands.
Filming took place at Amity and Point Lookout from Monday to Thursday.
The stars and their families left North Stradbroke Island on the vehicle barge on Thursday afternoon, driving through Cleveland just as the sun was setting.
