The Redlands was admirably represented at the national bocce championships held from June 8 to 11 at the Redland Sporting Club.

From the team, Anthony Parlato won the men’s singles, while Barbara Jones won the women’s precision throw and then runner-up in the singles. Ms Jones, Nevia Deklic and Elena Bunin were also runners up in the women’s triples.
The championships involved 22 Queensland and interstate bocce teams. Winning overall was the team from Western Australia.
