Redlands United coach Nick Dibbs was disappointed in his side’s result on Saturday night.
"The results, scoreline or the performance was not good enough. I'm slightly embarrassed, to be quiet honest," Dibbs said.
"The boys have to react and they got to be consistent in our attitude, in our effort and how we approach games.
“There were some good moments, however keeping the ball and the simple things have to be done a little better.
"I am disappointed. I'm really sorry to the club for us to come back after a long time away to a performance like that," Dibbs said.
Redlands went down 6-2 to Cairns FC on Saturday night in their first game at the Cleveland Showgrounds after spending eight weeks away from their home ground.
Cairns pushed Redlands from the start as they used their fast forwards to sprint down the wings on the counter and were able to capitalise as they opened the scoring.
However, four minutes later their lead was gone as they fouled a Redlands attacker on the way to goal.
Alex Warrilow converted the penalty before Cairns took back the lead from the restart.
Cairns went on to score two more, one before and one after halftime, before Redlands replied as Robert Kramer brought the ball up the sideline, passing it in for Jake Sherwood to tap it in.
Cairns went on to score two more goals, with Joshua Taylor finishing off his hat-trick.
However, the game was shrouded in controversy as the referee and his assistants missed offsides and was rather lenient on infringements and other physical misconduct.
"Not everything went against us but not everything went for us," Dibbs said.
“I've kept my silence on that because you have to make your own three points and things do level out over the season but so far I've been disappointed.
"I think it needs to be highlighted now.
"We are in a position this year where we are fighting to stay up unfortunately.
“You do have to take responsibility for bad performances, which we clearly had, and I'm not denying that but at the same time I think the officials need to take responsibility for their job," he said.
Redlands United face Brisbane Roar Youth on Saturday at Logan Metro Sports Complex.
