TWO Girls and a Laptop owners Helen Spencer and Jacqui Evans have been recognised for the best web presence winners at the National Business Brilliance Awards.
The business strategy partners were judged on their website with aspects such as the effectiveness in achieving a website goal, usability, design and the search engine.
The duo were one of 12 mothers in business to have won an award at the ceremony in Melbourne on the weekend.
The awards, initiated by one of Australia’s mothers in business networking group Motivating Mum, showcases the hard work, determination and achievements of mothers in business.
It was followed by a conference featuring amazing speakers, workshops and networking opportunities.
Ms Spencer from Wellington Point and Ms Evans from Bardon launched Two Girls and a Laptop one year ago and said they were going from strength to strength, learning valuable business lessons along the way.
“I had a social media management business and when working with clients I noticed that many of them didn’t have any type of business or marketing plan in place,” Ms Spencer said.
“I told Jacqui about it and we saw it as a real opportunity to work directly with women in small businesses … to help them define, create and implement their goals into actionable steps.”
Ms Evans said reflecting on their achievements, they were proud to win the award and the support received from family and friends.
“Running your own business on top of all the other responsibilities of mum life means we don’t get the chance to give ourselves a pat on the back very often so being nominated for this award means a great deal to us,” she said.
