THE countdown is on until Redland Softball Association hosts the 2018 International Friendship Series in conjunction with the U23 National Championships.
Almost 400 athletes and many of their families are set to converge on the area when local and international teams will travel to the Redlands for the two tournaments.
The 2018 International Friendship Series is on July 9-13. This is the second time the event will be held out of New South Wales and the second consecutive year at Redland Softball Association.
The U23 Womens’ and Mens’ National Championship will be held over the July 11-14.
The International Friendship Series is an annual tournament that presents a valuable opportunity for players to take part in an international standard competition, and is the first step for many towards selection in national junior and open team.
It is also used to assist with talent identification for aspiring national athletes of the future as well as providing a foundation for skill development.
All members of the local community, including players and non-players, are encouraged to attend with their family and friends to help cheer on Australia and Queensland’s best senior and U23 players.
