The talent of individual singers in the Redland City Choir will be showcased at its mid year variety concert to be staged from 7pm on July 28 at the Salvation Army Bayside community church, corner MacArthur Street and McDonald Road, Alexandra Hills.
The soloists will be interspersed with choir favourites in its annual fund raising concert.
Choir repertoire includes My Fair Lady, Rhythm of Life and You Raise Me Up.
Soloists include Dawn Moore, Barry Adams, Katacia Southcombe, Georgia Cook, Stephanie Taylor, Kathy Weller, Maddie Young, Sharon Rogers, Chris Beswick, Cheryl Shewan, Jim Pollock, Jessica O’Leary and Kathryn Ryan. The soloists will sing a range of songs including some from musical theatre productions.
A highlight of the concert will be the reciting of an insightful and stirring poem by its author Peta Dunnett.
Redland City Choir conductor Anita Taylor said the concert was a way of giving all members a voice. She said it was also a major fund raising initiative towards its Redlands White Christmas concert to be staged at the Redland Performing Arts Centre on December 8.
Tickets are $10 adults, $5 children under 12 and pensioners, $20 for a family. All tickets can be purchased at the door.
