REDLANDS Centre for Women has celebrated a milestone in delivering their 1000th pink pamper pack after 10 years of supporting Redlands women with the initiative.
The service began as a challenge from the Star of the Sea Church to make a difference in the community by touching the lives of local women.
The packs, featuring items such as beauty products and food, that bring happiness in a small way to a woman going through a tough time, are delivered to those nominated by community members.
Volunteer pink pamper packs co-ordinator Linda Crane said she enjoyed helping at the centre and contributing towards making a difference to the lives of women living in the Redlands.
"Our pamper packs can reach people going through difficult personal challenges such as loss of a loved one or illness," she said.
“I also love seeing the positivity, activity and aspiration at the centre towards supporting and promoting our educational programs, services, various social groups and friendships.”
RCW founder Katrina Beutel said after 10 years of deliveries, the 1000th pack was an exciting milestone for the team.
"From little things big things can grow and this project has certainly shown us how a group of friends can rally together to create an ongoing, sustainable support for women in our community who just needed to know that they are loved and not alone on their journey," she said.
RCW supports, educates and empower local women through the pamper packs and other services.
Acting chief empowerment officer Kerri Long said the packs prepared and delivered by the team would deliver support and empowerment to those who received them.
"We are so very grateful to our donors who provide products and service vouchers, and always welcome other ideas and additions to our packs,” she said.
"We know they make such a difference to women's wellbeing and sense of belonging to our community."
