A man charged over an incident on South Australia's Yorke Peninsula that forced parts of Wallaroo into lockdown and sparked a 24-hour manhunt has not applied for bail at his first court appearance.
Jake Dohnt appeared before Port Pirie Magistrates Court on Wednesday charged with a string of offences including endangering life, driving dangerously to escape police and aggravated assault.
The 25-year-old was remanded in custody to appear next in Adelaide Magistrates Court in January.
Dohnt was taken into custody on Tuesday after a car he was travelling in was road spiked north of Port Wakefield.
That followed the manhunt in Wallaroo in which police searched numerous houses and other properties in the town.
At one point they declared part of the town a dangerous area, preventing locals from leaving or returning to their homes.
In a separate arrest, a 27-year-old Adelaide woman was charged with impeding the Wallaroo investigation and breaching bail.
She was refused police bail and was expected to appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
