A BUS driver has been assaulted at Capalaba bus interchange overnight.
A Queensland Police Service spokesperson said the 41-year-old was taken to Redland Hospital with face, chest and arm injuries after being attacked.
The spokesperson said initial information suggested the bus driver was sitting in a bus with its door closed just before 8pm on Thursday when a group of men approached wanting to board.
“The group then entered the bus and one of the men punched the driver a number of times before pulling him from the bus and further assaulting him,” the spokesperson said.
“The men then fled the area on foot and were last seen heading towards Capalaba Central (shopping centre).”
The spokesperson said police were investigating the incident.
Police believe the bus was parked along Redland Bay Road at the time of the offence.
