Artist David Griggs spoke about the influences in his art at the launch of a new exhibition at the Redland Art Gallery at Cleveland on July 20.
Grigg’s work involves painting, photography and film, largely exploring the underground culture in the Philippines where he has lived for the past decade. Part of his work includes a series created with four gangs, all inmates of the Manila City jail.
The exhibition is entitled Between Nature and Sin and includes a premiere screening of the feature film Cowboy Country.
The exhibition remains at the gallery until August 26.
