THEY are made from sugar, spice and all things nice but Redlands girls part of an under 13 hockey team have proven they are also made from grit too.
The Redlands Hockey Association team members were named as division three state champions for their age group after wins secured at Bundaberg last month.
The group will soon begin training for division two after the win.

Team manager Angela Woodall said the girls, aged 11 to 13, had played strongly throughout the finals but excelled in the last game, helping to bring home a victory.
“The win validates all of the hard work they put in and has reinforced their own confidence in their ability,” she said.
It was the first time a Redland Hockey Association under 13 team had won a state championship.
Ms Woodall said final game was intense for parents and other spectators, who knew the team could win even if they were in a draw with the opposing side.
“It was very intense,” Ms Woodall said.
