TWO local organisations have received $1063 each for their community projects as part of the Stockland Cleveland 2018 CARE grants program.
The Redland District Committee on the Ageing received money for a Macleay Island project.
RDCOTA volunteer Fay Doherty said the grant from Stockland had helped pay signs at their Macleay Island location.
"The A-frame signs are for our office space which we use in Macleay Island Hall to let people know where we are,” she said.
“We do computer lessons on a Friday afternoon on Macleay Island and needed people to be able to find us.”
The Redlands Community Centre received the other grant for their Redlands Runway project.
Stocklands CARE Grants are given annually to help organisations with community-based programs that are inclusive, engaging and cohesive.
Stockland Cleveland centre manager Jodie Punshon said they were proud to support local organisations who play an integral part in the community.
“We hope these Stockland CARE Grants will help make this community an even better place to live, work and play,” she said.
Across Australia Stockland gave $270,000 to 293 organisations.
Stockland chief operating officer Michael Rosmarin said the support for local community groups who demonstrated great work, dedication and commitment was proudly continued.
“Stockland is proud to once again lend a hand to hundreds of community groups across Australia,” he said.
“We whole-heartedly recognise the valuable contribution these groups make to their community every single day.”
