FEDERAL MP Andrew Laming says there is a clear majority support for Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.
Asked to respond to speculation about his allegiances, Mr Laming said that party room votes were confidential.
Mr Laming was commenting to the Redland City Bulletin after Tuesday’s leadership ballot in which Mr Turnbull won the leadership contest 48 votes to Peter Dutton’s 35.
The Bowman MP turned the focus back to infrastructure and jobs in the Redlands.
“… I’ll be leading the way with new opportunities for unemployed mums to re-enter the workforce, as well as two large pieces of sorely-needed Redland infrastructure that are currently in planning,” Mr Laming said.
“The priorities for this government remain lowering energy prices through national agreement, guaranteed tax cuts and a high-performing welfare system that reconnects young people – including young Redlanders – to working opportunities.”
Mr Turnbull later on Tuesday survived a no confidence motion that Labor leader Bill Shorten sought to move.
