Employers today are more likely to recruit ”job-ready” candidates, but how do you get your foot in the door if you can’t get a job to earn that work experience?

This is where EDB Training can help.

EDB Training is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) based in the Redlands, at Capalaba.

The courses they offer are all about providing practical skills to help prepare school-leavers or those wanting to change career so they can find work.

It’s not just about getting the skills, it’s about getting the whole package right, that’s why EDB Training also help with resume writing and with techniques for successful interviews.

Students attending these courses should be able to transition into the workforce more prepared and with the right attitude.

There is a wide range of courses available and each course is led by industry expert trainers, with a great attitude towards helping people.

Hospitality

If you are looking for a job for uni or are planning on taking a gap year and backpacking; you may wish to consider taking a hospitality course. The skills you learn can be used anywhere in the world to find a job.

Those enrolled in hospitality will obtain their Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and complete theory and practical work, including learning barista work.

The course imparts all the essentials of food hygiene and customer service. There are even coffee machines on site to facilitate barista training.

Logistics

Those who choose to enrol in the Logistics course learn how to receive and despatch goods, check inventory, as well as obtain a forklift licence, to enable them to work in warehousing.

EDB Training has a reputation for being able to cater to everyone’s needs. As part of their flexible approach, they provide on-site forklift training on the weekend or even at 5.30am before work.

Small business owners

Estimates are that one in three new small businesses in Australia fail in their first year, so if you’re planning on starting your own business, give yourself a fighting chance by taking a Small Business Management course.

The course covers all the basics you need to start out on your own.

Short Courses

They also offer short courses in customer service, time management and Voice Pick.
