Frank Baum’s story was adapted in 1939, almost 80 years ago and has continued to thrill audiences.

After a competitive selection, students started rehearsing for the three-show season, which will be held at the Lingo Lin Performing Arts Theatre at Ormiston College.

ON SHOW: Summer Brown (Year 6) plays Glinda. The Wizard of Oz is a classic tale which has been played around the world thousands of times.

The show has allowed pupils to build confidence, fine tune stagecraft and develop a strong technical foundation in the dramatic arts.

As with all large cast performances, a tremendous amount of back-stage work has taken place, with plenty of  help from parents and staff and the Moccha Club volunteers who worked on stage and design, ensuring scenery, props and costumes create a spectacular production.

GOING GREEN: Emerald Townspeople Hugh McNamara and Miranda Henville, with Dorothy played by Bronte Ling.
