A SMALL army of about 140 Ormiston College pupils from prep to Year 6 will put on this year’s biennial production The Wizard of Oz.
Frank Baum’s story was adapted in 1939, almost 80 years ago and has continued to thrill audiences.
After a competitive selection, students started rehearsing for the three-show season, which will be held at the Lingo Lin Performing Arts Theatre at Ormiston College.
The show has allowed pupils to build confidence, fine tune stagecraft and develop a strong technical foundation in the dramatic arts.
As with all large cast performances, a tremendous amount of back-stage work has taken place, with plenty of help from parents and staff and the Moccha Club volunteers who worked on stage and design, ensuring scenery, props and costumes create a spectacular production.
Performances will be on Friday, September 14 at 6pm and on Saturday, September 15 at 1pm and 6pm. Adult tickets are $20, children and students $15, family tickets are $60.
