REDLANDS all-rounder Marnus Labuschagne has been picked for the Australian Test squad in a series against Pakistan next month.
Labuschagne will debut for the Australian side alongside other Queenslanders Aaron Finch, Travis Head, Michael Neser and Brendan Doggett.
He first played for Queensland during the 2014-15 Sheffield Shield and is currently playing in India with the Australia A squad.
Labuschagne plays for the Brisbane Heat and has played for Redlands since he was a junior cricketer in under 12s.
National selector Trevor Hohns told Queensland Cricket that Labushchagne was a young player with plenty of potential and a great work ethic.
“He has performed well in the Sheffield Shield, has shown he’s a good player of spin for Australia A in India and is an elite fielder who offers added variety with the ball as a leg-spin option,” he said.
The squad will assemble in Brisbane for a pre-tour camp on September 16.
