NO ONE had to show Lauren Turgeon where the water cooler was for her first day on the job at Cleveland police station.
The married mum-of-three already knew, with not too much having changed in the 14 years since she worked there as a first-year constable.
Sergeant Turgeon said she was glad to be back in the Redlands after serving the Dutton Park, Cannon Hill and Coorparoo communities.

She said she felt privileged to help people in troubling times.
In the Redlands, she would take a mental pause to enjoy the bay views when out.
“I used to like looking at the water in my first year,” she said.
Sergeant Turgeon said she had since specialised in helping victims of domestic violence.
She encouraged women caught in abusive relationships to reach out to her at the Cleveland station.
Financial control, harassment, intimidation and damage to property were all incidents that warranted police attention.
“I’m happy to be contacted by women in distress experiencing family or domestic violence,” she said.
The 37-year-old said she considered herself lucky to be able to help.
She first entered the police force at 22 after finishing behavioural science studies at university.
Policing was her top career choice.
“I like being part of the community and contributing,” she said.
Cleveland station officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Janelle Harm said Sergeant Turgeon was already a valued member of the Redlands policing team.
“I am very happy for Lauren to get promoted at Cleveland station,” she said.
