A 31-YEAR-OLD Brazilian-born French national investigated by the State Crime Command’s Financial Cyber Group will appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court today for alleged ATM card skimming offences across Brisbane.
A Queensland Police Service spokesperson said the man, who was in Australian on a student visa, was arrested in July after detectives executed a warrant to search a Spring Hill address as part of Operation Quebec Olympic.
The spokesperson said police would allege two false ATM ceiling panels with attached pin hole cameras, five ATM deep insert skimming devices, associated electronics, $22,100 cash, laptops and a hard drive were found.
It would also be alleged an electronic card reader and writer, multiple blank iTunes and gift cards, bag of tools and other electronic equipment associated with card skimming were located.
The police spokesperson said the man was charged 61 offences, including obtaining identification information, dealing with identification information, stealing, possessing tainted property and posses thing with intent to forge documents.
