There is nothing sweeter than the blended voices of family members, proven by Karen Law and her family which perform together at Indigiscapes, Runnymede Road, Capalaba on October 21 as this month’s Folk Redlands performance.
Ms Law performs with her son Murray 17 and daughters Hazel 15 and Roanna 13 as well as husband David in what is known as the epitome of honest, home-grown contemporary folk music.
The performance offers a healthy dose of family banter, and an obvious joy in performing together.
Available on the day will be the family’s new album The Calm After The Storm.
Songs Sweet in the Morning won a prize in the Sunshine Coast Council song competition in 2017, and 9am on Polling Day was the 2018 winner of the Illawarra Folk Festival songwriting competition.
The performance begins at 1pm with a two-hour blackboard session which invites performers of all levels to play for 15 to 20 minutes, on a first in basis. A PA is provided. Karen Law and Family perform from 3pm to 4pm.
Entry is free.
