Sculptures by students of Georgette Schwantes will be judged at an exhibition to be staged at 32 Claremont Street, Birkdale from 2pm to 4pm on November 3.
Now in its 18th year, the annual sculptural recognition award is judged by those attending the event in recognition of the work of 2018 sculpture students.
“The purpose of this is to help promote my studen’ts confidence. This has proved to be so successful in building up their self esteem that we have repeated it every year,” Ms Schwantes said.
“I trully believe that if one believes they can achive it, they always invarably can as a number of my students have now become artists in their own right even though when they first came to me they had never touched clay before.”
The exhibition is open to the public with food and drink provided and entertainment by soprano Hayley Kitchener.
One-off originals can be purchased directly from the sculptor.
