Redland band Little Steely Brothers will mark its 10th anniversary with a performance at the Grand View Hotel from 3pm on October 28, simulcast with Bay FM 100.3.
Patrons can bring a rug to sit on the lawn and phone for lunch bookings on 3884 3000 before 1.30pm.
The occasion will also mark the 60th birthday of lead vocalist Murray Thomas, well remembered by the band which formed on his 50th birthday.
Keyboard/vocalist Greg Eastwood said the six band members had come together through a shared love of music.
"Along the way we have developed a great camaraderie. We also get a lot of pleasure watching our audience have fun. We play the sort of music that connects with people. We’ve seen our crowds get bigger over the 10 years and we like to see the joy on people's faces," Eastwood said.
The band plays the classic hits of the Little River Band, Steely Dan, Doobie Brothers, and Eagles, hence its name.
The band comprises Eastwood, Learn Music Thornlands guitar teacher Shayne Browne, Murray Thomas, guitarist/vocalist Luke George, bass guitar player Greg Richards and drummer Michael Thompson.
Eastwood said some of the members had played music together since school days and had been long-time friends.
With four of its six members from the Redlands, Little Steely Brothers plays a fair proportion of shows in the Redlands, most particularly at the Grand View Hotel and the Victoria Point Sharks Sporting Club.
"We are very grateful for the venues that have been prepared to give us a go and which support local music," Eastwood said.
In 2017, the band was a support act for Status Quo, Baby Animals and Jon Stevens in their Rock the Boat tour. In 2019, it will tour with Suzi Quattro, John Paul Young and the All-stars, The Angels and The Sweet.
