NOISY birds alerted high pressure cleaning contractors to a carpet python at Mount Cotton.
Ian Mansvelt from The Window Boyz said they were cleaning at driveway on Pimelea Crescent on Tuesday when they heard the squawking.
“We turned around and there was the snake crossing the road,” he said.
“It was about 2.5 to 3 metres long and definitely on the prowl.”
Mr Mansvelt said a resident had checked on a neighbour’s small dogs to make sure they were not at risk from the snake.
The snake was spotted just the day after a 19-year-old Redland Bay woman was woken by a snake that knocked over a pot plant about 3am.
Redlands snake catcher Tony Morrison came to the rescue, catching the snake which had climbed onto drawers in Ashleigh Muller’s bedroom.
