THE second stage of the Moreton Shores residential aged care redevelopment has opened, with about 70 people on site to take a tour.
The Flinders wing, opened by federal MP Andrew Laming, takes Moreton Shores to a 120-bed residential aged care community.
Bolton Clarke chairman Pat McIntosh said the redeveloped facility supported people’s wellbeing and community connections.
“The redevelopment includes the Terrace Café overlooking the playground, a cinema, the lakeside walking path to strengthen connections between our retirement living and residential communities, and of course new state-of-the-art rooms with flexible configurations designed to give people choice and maximise independence,” Mr McIntosh said.
“We’re grateful for the input of our residents in helping us create what we hope will become a favourite place for families to visit and share time together.”
The Terrace, opened in July, has become a community hub and was the location for a 100th birthday celebration for more than 80 guests for resident Rusty McWilliam.
The second stage of the redevelopment comprises a 56-bed aged care wing and a four-bed extension to the previously built facility.
