WELLINGTON Point State School might not have surf, but plenty of sand will be there for a beach party.
The fun, hosted by the school’s P&C, is on from 4pm to 8pm on Saturday, October 27, with entry priced at $10 per adult and $5 for kids. Children aged under two are free.
Wellington Point State School P&C Association president Lisa Blackmore said everyone was invited to the event, which would help raise money for school projects and activities.
Rides and entertainment are all planned, with patrons’ hunger to be kept at bay with purchases of food and drinks.
A Tiki Bar will be open, with lucky door prizes, cent auctions, a dunk tank and more fun also planned.
Tickets can be bought online here, with everyone invited, Ms Blackmore said.
“The beach party is open to the whole community,” she said.
Ms Blackmore said funds raised by the P&C have been used to brighten up the school, with five murals painted there this year by Byron Bay artist Nitsua.
A turtle, dugong, curlew and butterflies are all featured in the artwork, as is the school’s Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program.
Two hands forming a love heart were painted underneath the inspirational quote: “In a world where you can be anything, be kind.”
Ms Blackmore said a buddy bench would be installed later this year after children had asked for the seating to help students find friends during break times.
Student participation in Life Education, which includes visit to the school by Healthy Harold the Giraffe, has also been funded by the P&C.
