Cleveland Film Company has cast its debut short film 5 Moons of Pluto.
Production coordinator Erin Sattler said in casting, the company had uncovered shining local talent which leads the Redlands further down the path of a thriving film indyustry.
In 5 Moons of Pluto, Gabriella Petkova is set to play leading lady Piper, with Oscar Richardson as Aaron, Mary Lou Plath as Kylie, Josephine Plath as Charlene and Ryan Mears as Ethan.
The supporting cast includes Eloise Rothfield, Travis Lombard, Saskia Taylor and Hannah Wyatt.
Alexandra MacDonald plays Piper’s teacher and Joey Vieira plays Piper’s Dad, both established actors with national and international credits.
CFC’s producer and writer of 5 Moons of Pluto, Bradford Walton, said he was ‘blown away’ with the young talent in the area at the casting day earlier in the year.
“We saw quality over quantity in every single young actor and actress who auditioned. We are lucky to have such talent in and around Redlands,” Mr Walton said.
“CFC prides itself on its commitment to establish a sustainable film industry in Redlands by hiring local crew and offering screenwriting workshops.”
He said CFC planned to build a sustainable local industry in the Redlands through training, debuting its 10-week screen writing course at Cleveland State High School and Redlands College in 2019.
CFC’s motto is ‘film local, screen global’, with 5 Moons of Pluto planned for international release at film festivals in Europe, America and Australia in 2019.
