THE Anglican Parish of Waterloo Bay is ushering in the holiday season with a festival celebrating all things art, craft and Christmas.
The Twilight Carols and Craft Festival on December 1 will include stalls selling jams, relishes, cakes and crafts handmade by local businesses.
“The event will also support local businesses as all goods and services required to deliver the event will be sourced, wherever possible, from local artists and suppliers,” parish council member Aline Stinton said.
“It provides a platform to support local craft and food businesses by offering a unique opportunity to sell their goods.”
Ms Stinton said local Girl Guides would hand-deliver festival flyers to homes around the Redlands in exchange for a free stall to sell their handmade Christmas packages.
Local acts will perform throughout the afternoon, including Puppetrix, the Dukes of Uke, and the Redland City Choir.
Ms Stinton said profits raised by the event would go towards the church’s youth and community ministries.
“At this first event we do not expect high fundraising as the event will have many expenses,” Ms Stinton said.
“However, any small funds that are raised through parish stalls will help us to keep our vibrant church and these community ministries alive and flourishing.”
The Twilight Advent and Craft Festival will be held on December 1 from 3pm to 7pm at St James’ Church, Station Street, Wellington Point.
