TENDERS are being evaluated for the Victoria Point Central bus station to be built on Cleveland-Redland Bay Road.
Redlands MP Kim Richards said work would start before the end of the year and be completed late next year, weather permitting.
“This is great news for local residents and businesses,” Ms Richards said.
“With two sheltered platforms and capacity for six buses, the new station will be a big improvement for all involved.
“The project also includes facilities for bus drivers, bicycle storage and improved lighting with security cameras and 24-hour video recording.”

Ms Richards said the Palaszczuk government was ensuring that public transport infrastructure kept pace with the growth of the Redlands.
Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey said the Cleveland-Redland Bay and Bunker Road intersection precinct was an important service centre for the growing Redlands City area.
“We are excited to deliver a project that will provide a more centralised bus station, improving access to local facilities and supporting the local economy,” Mr Bailey said.
“Works on the new two-platform bus station will start soon after the tender is awarded.”
“Services will continue to run as normal to the existing bus stops on Bunker Road until the new station is completed.”
