A FOOD and drink kiosk and property management services are to open at Redland Bay Marina bus station before Christmas.
The businesses will be in spaces at the $8.1 million station which was opened more than a year ago.
Redlands MP Kim Richards said the property management service business would be located in a mixed use commercial space. The area would also accommodate information for tourists, which would be supported by Redland City Council.
She said Translink was working with the tenants to ensure one outlet would be a go card retailer.
It was anticipated that both tenants would be open seven days a week.
“The $8.1 million bus station upgrade opened last year delivered an impressive new facility for local passengers and holiday makers transferring between TransLink’s Southern Moreton Bay Island ferry and bus services to the islands,” Ms Richards said.
“The retail spaces constructed as part of the upgrade offer a great opportunity for new local businesses and we look forward to welcoming them to the precinct.”
It comes as Russell Island resident Sandra Mckeown complained that the facilities for ambulances at the station were inadequate.
The 75-year-old said she had arrived at hospital wet, cold and shivering after being taken from the boat ramp to an ambulance on a guerney in heavy rain.
