Cartoons on the Bay returns to the Grand View with a host of humerous takes on politics and life in general, on show until November 30.
The cartoons shown are the 100 which made it to this year’s finals of the 2018 Rotary cartoon awards, created by renowned cartoonists throughout Australia.
Grand View’s Gerald Brock said he was proud to have the collection on show at the hotel and encouraged people to come and take a look. Admission is $5/$4.
“These are quintessentially Australian and a wonderful gentle humour. We must not lose our cultural characters and our own brand of Aussie humour. We should rejoice in who we are and our freedom to demonstrate our creativity in a truly egalitarian way,” Mr Brock said.
“These cartoons squeeze a bit of humour out of the everyday,” he said.
Mr Brock said prints of the works were available for sale although the Bunker at Coffs Harbour retained the originals as part of its collection.
