ORMISTON State School is celebrating the arrival of the festive season with a night of carols, movies and market stalls.
Stalls selling pizza, ice cream and coffee will be set up on the school oval, with part of the proceeds being donated back to the school community.
A jumping castle will also be set up for the children.
From 2:30pm, carols will be performed by the Ormiston State School Christmas Choir and local singer Naree Cole.
In the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, Ms Cole sang as backup to Christine Anu, and has performed with Australian entertainers including Karen Knowles and Rhonda Burchmore.
Ms Cole says the event is close to her heart, and she is excited to help raise money for the school.
“My two daughters attended Ormiston State School,” Ms Cole said.
“I have a massive passion for the school and I believe it deserves recognition for what it does for the Redlands.”
After the carols, there will be an open-air screening of the 2016 film SING.
An Ormiston State School Parents and Citizens Association representative said the event was the association’s way of thanking the community for supporting the school throughout the year.
The Ormiston State School Christmas Carols and Movie Night will be held on Saturday November 24. Gates open at 2pm, and entry is free.
