Aaron Finch has played so many formats in so many different places in the last month that he's got himself all muddled up.
But the Australian short-form captain insists a few days spent at home, whenever they may've been, have re-centred him in time to hit his straps against India on Wednesday night.
Finch will enter the first of a three-game Twenty20 series at the Gabba against Virat Kohli's India in scratchy form.
Technically organised in his Test debut in the United Arab Emirates in October, the 32-year-old has managed scores of 1, 0, 3, 1, 5, 41, 11 and 7 in white-ball cricket since.
The Victorian acknowledged last week that the transition had messed with his tried-and-tested approach to the shorter forms and ahead of the series opener conceded it had also taken its toll internally.
"It difficult mentally more than anything," he said.
"Being home for two weeks in eight months is tough and at times starts to wear you down mentally.
"It was great having two days last week after (the) Perth (ODI).. no, before this game, I don't know when it was actually.
"But I was home for a couple of days to refresh and come up here with a clear mind again because the days can roll into one."
He says his rhythm is back though and on Wednesday night hopes to improve Australia's record to six wins, 15 losses and one draw since the ill-fated tour of South Africa.
"It's been frustrating; they (the wins) haven't happened but it's international sport, teams don't present opportunities all the time," he said.
"You might only get one chance some days and if you're good enough to take it that's the stuff that builds culture in teams."
