IT wasn’t quite the EKKA but a petting zoo, food and fairy floss were all part of the grand opening of Thorneside Pharmacy last weekend.
Pharmacy owner Nick Yung said the day was a huge success with a turnout “in the hundreds” as locals showed their support.
Nick is one of three new owners, who took over the 25-year-old pharmacy back in September.
He teamed up with fellow pharmacists and graduating friends Jeff Li and Michael Quach to operate the independent pharmacy at Thorneside Shopping Village.
Last Saturday, the team held their grand opening and goats, chickens, a sausage sizzle, cakes, Redland City Council members, promotions and prizes, were just some of the highlights.
“We had the mayor, Karen Williams and our local councilor Paul Bishop as guest speakers,” said Nick. “It was really great to see the local community support the day.”
Along with free food and drinks were drawn prizes of a $200 visa gift card, $100 hamper and a $50 in store voucher.
“It was a really fantastic day and I’d like to thank everyone who helped make it happen,” Nick said.

After graduating together from university, Nick, Jeff and Michael have been working as pharmacists for the past 10 years.
Teaming together had been a dream of theirs and the Thorneside Pharmacy was the ideal location.
They have made little changes to the existing pharmacy, but have introduced a range of unique brands including the Oriental Botanical vitamin range and La Roche Posay skin care products.
