Thousands of people flocked to the Mount Cotton Village community park on November 25 to celebrate Christmas as a community.
Organised by Deb Wagner of Calvary Christian church at Mount Cotton, the event showcased a range of local talent with sponsors supporting rides and activities. Santa arrived by an SES vehicle and spent hours listening to children’s wish lists on a sleigh.
Local dance and singing groups provided hours of entertainment on the stage.
Cr Julie Talty said the event was now in its 15th year.
“This is a grass roots event that brings a community together. It is also a way of educating the community about the risk of fire danger. Mount Cotton has a high fire danger and we have people here with information and hand outs to highlight best practice,” she said.
