REDLANDS RSL Sub-Branch president Alan Harcourt has been recognised for service to the League, veterans and community, with life membership of RSL Queensland.
Mr Harcourt, a Vietnam veteran, joined the RSL in 1969 in Mildura, Victoria, raising money for the Mildura Base Hospital.
He was also a member of sub-branches at Bendigo and Shepparton before moving to Queensland in 1999.
Redlands RSL deputy president Ian Gray said Mr Harcourt had been instrumental in ensuring veterans in the area were well supported.
“Alan is truly committed to the welfare of our veterans,” Mr Gray said.
“He has established a young veterans group and the Golden Oldies group to keep them connected to the community.
“Last year, Alan volunteered 600 hours to the sub-branch and the community.
“We are very proud of him and so pleased that he is being recognised for his service and dedication.”
Mr Harcourt was presented with the life membership last month.
