ADVENTURE enthusiasts can take on 2.5 million cubic feet of foam and 22 exhilarating obstacles – like the world’s largest inflatable water slide – at Mount Cotton in January.
The 5K Foam Fest, launched in Melbourne on Saturday, will be held at Sirromet Wines on Saturday, January 12.
Jesse Fulton, founder and president of 365 Sports Inc, which is behind the event, said fun runs and obstacle course racing was the fastest growing sports category in the world.
“We have had millions of views of our videos on social media directly from Australia and people have been asking for us to bring the festival Down Under for a number of years,” Mr Fulton said.
“We are excited to finally launch it here and give everyone something fun, active and different to do over summer.”
Up to 6500 people will take on 22 obstacles including the world’s largest inflatable slide, bouncy castles, mud pits, a cargo climb and more than 2.5 million cubic feet of natural foam.
The event will support Make-a-Wish Australia.
The event has thrilled participants in 25 cities across the United States and Canada since 2014.
A free kids zone for children aged under seven will be on site, together with food and drink vendors, a licensed Pure Blonde beer garden and a DJ will be part of the entertainment.
“Even if you aren’t participating, the event is a true spectacle,” Mr Fulton said.
Suitable for anyone aged eight years and above, the event will be held in Sydney on December 15 and 16, Perth on January 26, Adelaide on February 9 and returns to Melbourne on February 16.
Early bird tickets are $85 and full price $100. Family passes are available.
