FOR The Colour Shak owner Kim Treuer, managing a hair and beauty salon doesn’t feel much like a job.
So winning the Best Hairdresser gong at the 2018 Redland BaR Awards was an absolute thrill for Kim and her enthusiastic team.
Kim said she had always been actively involved with her team and clients since purchasing the Victoria Point salon three years ago.
“I’m very hands on and love looking after clients. It really doesn’t feel like work to me,” she said.
Kim would like to thank all of The Colour Shak’s “fabulous” clients for supporting the business by voting.
“For us to become 2018 winners of Best Hairdresser awards – we definitely would not be here without you,” said Kim.
Kim purchased the existing salon in 2015 to fulfill a life long dream of having her own boutique salon and she immediately fell in love with the Redlands area.
Now the busy salon has an assistant manager, two casual fully qualified senior hairdressers, a first year apprentice and a school based apprentice.
Hair health is top importance to the team, who specialise in all aspects of colour, including colour melts, balayage, vivids, babylights and other foiling techniques.
They also do hair extensions, keratin smoothing, chemical relaxing, perming and are open two late nights and all day Saturday.
“Our Salon offers professional hairdressing services in an unpretentious environment,” said Kim. “We are a CPR Concept salon -we all love what we do and are a tight team that work well together which makes a difference to our clients’ experience.”
Blonde foils and balayage is still a big trend at the moment and GHD beach waves, and this time of year Keratin smoothing treatments are extremely popular to reduce frizz in the hair.
“As professionals, we use only the best professional products including, CPR Haircare and Professional Colour, Olaplex, Unite Haircare, GHD.”
The Colour Shak team enjoy supporting local community events and school fundraisers and are a drop off point for bra collecting for World’s Longest Bra Chain.
