Local Triathlon Club Starfish Tri Athletic has dominated at the Queensland Tri Series event on Sunday, scooping up seven golds, two silvers and three bronze medals.
This included a clean sweep of 1st 2nd and 3rd in the year 13 boys.
Starfish was second club overall leading into this weekend with another local club, the Sharks, just one point behind.
This is building to be a great local rivalry between the two clubs as they head into the second half of the season.
Starfish Tri Athletic head coach Ben Luscombe said he was really proud of his athletes with all of them showing big improvements from the first round in October.
“We are now looking forward to the National Super Sprint Weekend starting Thursday, where Australia's best junior triathletes compete over four days at the Runaway Bay Sports Super Center,” Luscombe said.
“We have five juniors selected to represent Queensland in this event which is considered one of the best junior events in the country.”
Starfish Tri-Athletic are hosting a Junior Development Super Camp (9th to 11th January) featuring a range of local industry leaders, including Pro-Athlete David Pinto, Elite Cycle team manager (intervello) Zac Collins, local podiatrist Rebecca Harry (All Sports), Emotional Intelligence consultant Dave Jorna and local identity and triathlon ambassador Belinda Norton.
